synthetic oils
Lab-made engine fluids
Synthetic oils are lubricants manufactured through chemical processes rather than refined from crude petroleum.
They offer advantages over conventional oils—better performance at extreme temperatures, longer intervals between changes, and reduced engine wear.
Most commonly refers to motor oil: I switched to synthetic oil for better cold-weather starts.
Also used in industrial machinery and aviation.
