sundowns
Day's final curtains
Sundowns is the plural of sundown, meaning multiple instances of the sun setting or the time of sunset: We spent a week of sundowns on the beach.
In medical contexts, sundowning describes the increased confusion and agitation some dementia patients experience in late afternoon and evening—they are said to have sundowns or to be sundowning.
