student teacher
Classroom apprentice learning
A student teacher is someone training to become a teacher by practicing in an actual classroom under supervision, typically as part of a college education program.
The arrangement benefits both parties: the student teacher gains experience while the supervising teacher gets an extra pair of hands.
My student teacher will be taking over the class next week.
