sticky texture
Clings to fingers
A sticky texture is a surface quality that adheres slightly to whatever touches it—tacky, gummy, or clingy rather than smooth or dry.
The phrase describes everything from honey residue to humid skin to poorly dried paint: The table had a sticky texture from spilled soda.
In food contexts, sticky texture may be desirable (rice, toffee) or a sign of spoilage.
