stable patient
Not getting worse
A stable patient is someone whose medical condition is not worsening—vital signs are consistent, symptoms aren't progressing, and no immediate intervention is required.
The term doesn't mean healthy or recovered, just that the situation isn't deteriorating: She's in serious condition but stable.
Doctors upgrade patients from critical to stable when the immediate danger has passed.
