sports rivalry
Athletic team feud
Sports rivalry is an ongoing competitive relationship between teams, athletes, or fan bases, often fueled by geography, history, or memorable past encounters.
Classic rivalries—Yankees-Red Sox, Real Madrid-Barcelona, Ohio State-Michigan—generate heightened intensity and fan investment beyond ordinary matchups.
The rivalry between the two schools dates back a century.
