space case
Head in clouds
A space case is someone who seems mentally absent or disconnected from their surroundings—distracted, forgetful, or prone to zoning out.
The term suggests someone whose mind has drifted off into space: Don't be such a space case—I've told you three times already.
Often affectionate rather than harsh.
