song festivals

Song festivals are large-scale musical events where groups—typically choirs—gather to perform, often competitively or in mass ensembles.

The term is particularly associated with Baltic traditions, where national song festivals have been cultural touchstones for over a century: The Estonian Song Festival draws tens of thousands of singers.

Such events often carry significance beyond music, serving as expressions of national identity or community solidarity.
