Slow lanes are traffic lanes designated for vehicles traveling below the speed limit or slower than surrounding traffic, typically the rightmost lanes on highways.
The term extends metaphorically to any track where progress is unhurried: She's content in the slow lane while her colleagues chase promotions.
The opposite is the fast lane.
