slack rope
Unfastened circus cable
A slack rope is a rope hung loosely between two points, used by performers who walk, dance, or perform acrobatics on it.
Unlike a tightrope, which is pulled taut, a slack rope swings and sways, requiring different balance techniques.
The term also describes the style of performance: She trained in slack rope and trapeze.
