six senses

Beyond the five

The six senses extend the traditional five—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch—by adding a sixth, typically proprioception (awareness of body position) or, more commonly in casual use, intuition or extrasensory perception: She claimed her six senses told her something was wrong.

The phrase often appears in discussions of perception beyond the conventional five.
