sightedness

Ability to see

Sightedness is the condition of having sight, almost always appearing with a modifier.

Someone who is nearsighted has nearsightedness; farsighted people have farsightedness.

Without a modifier, sightedness usually contrasts with blindness in discussions of visual ability or disability.
