Rally ends, switch
Sideout is a volleyball term for when the receiving team wins the rally and gains the right to serve.
Under older scoring rules, points could only be scored by the serving team, so a sideout meant winning service without scoring.
Modern rally scoring awards a point with every sideout, but the term persists: We need a sideout here.
