shoo ins
Guaranteed winners, informally
Shoo-ins are people or things considered certain to win or succeed.
The term comes from horse racing, where a fixed race allowed a horse to be "shooed in" to victory without real competition.
Now it applies broadly to any foregone conclusion: The incumbent is a shoo-in for reelection.
Also spelled shoo-ins.
