shaping up
Developing as expected
Shaping up means developing or progressing, usually toward something better: The project is really shaping up.
It often implies improvement from a rough or uncertain start: After a slow first quarter, the team is finally shaping up.
To shape up or ship out is an ultimatum demanding improvement or departure.
