sexual harassment law
Misconduct prohibition statute
Sexual harassment law is the body of legal rules prohibiting unwanted sexual conduct in workplaces, schools, and other settings.
In the U.S., it developed primarily under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which treats sexual harassment as a form of sex discrimination.
Courts recognize two main categories: quid pro quo harassment, where sexual favors are demanded in exchange for job benefits, and hostile work environment, where pervasive conduct interferes with someone's ability to work.
