seven seals
Scroll's divine locks
The seven seals appear in the Book of Revelation as divine seals on a scroll that, when opened by the Lamb, unleash apocalyptic events including conquest, war, famine, death, and cosmic catastrophe.
The phrase has become shorthand for catastrophic or world-ending events: It felt like the seven seals were being opened when everything started going wrong at once.
To say something is sealed with seven seals means it is completely secret or incomprehensible.
