sequential logic
Memory-based computation
Sequential logic is digital circuitry whose output depends not only on current inputs but also on previous states—it has memory.
Unlike combinational logic, which responds purely to present inputs, sequential logic stores information and can track history: flip-flops, registers, and counters are building blocks.
The CPU uses sequential logic to step through instructions.
