scratchcards

Coin-revealed game cards

Scratchcards are lottery tickets or game cards with a coating that conceals symbols or numbers underneath.

Players scratch off the opaque layer—usually with a coin—to reveal whether they've won a prize: I bought a scratchcard at the gas station and won twenty dollars.

Also spelled as two words: scratch cards.
