sales order
Customer buying document
A sales order is a document confirming a customer's purchase, specifying what was ordered, quantities, prices, and delivery terms.
It's generated by the seller after receiving a purchase order or other commitment from the buyer: The warehouse won't ship until they receive a sales order.
In business software, sales orders track the transaction from confirmation through fulfillment.
