rose-colored glasses
Naive outlook accessory
Rose-colored glasses are an optimistic or naive outlook that ignores problems and sees only what's pleasant.
The metaphor suggests literal lenses that tint everything rosy: She views her childhood through rose-colored glasses.
To take off the rose-colored glasses is to confront reality.
Also rose-tinted glasses.
