redate
Change the timestamp
To redate something is to assign it a different date than originally given.
Documents get redated when errors are discovered or when backdating serves some purpose: The contract was redated to reflect when the agreement actually began.
Archaeologists and historians redate artifacts when new evidence emerges: Carbon dating redated the fossil to 50,000 years ago.
