rainbows and unicorns
Unrealistic happy idealism
Rainbows and unicorns refers to an unrealistically optimistic or idealized view of things—a world where everything is beautiful and nothing goes wrong.
The phrase often carries gentle mockery: She thinks the merger will be all rainbows and unicorns.
Sometimes shortened to just rainbows or paired with similar imagery: sunshine and rainbows, butterflies and rainbows.
