public markets
Community shopping venues
Public markets are financial markets where securities like stocks and bonds trade openly among investors, as opposed to private markets where transactions occur directly between parties.
The term also refers to traditional marketplaces where vendors sell goods to the general public—farmers markets, food halls, and similar communal shopping spaces: Pike Place is Seattle's famous public market.
