pre-tinned
Factory-coated with solder
Pre-tinned describes something that has already had a thin coating of solder or tin applied to it, typically wire, electronic components, or metal surfaces.
This preparation makes subsequent soldering easier and more reliable, as the solder flows more readily onto surfaces that have been pre-tinned.
The pre-tinned leads on the component made assembly much faster.
The term appears most often in electronics work and metalworking contexts.
