power pitcher
Fastball-throwing starter
A power pitcher in baseball is one who relies primarily on throwing fast—typically 95+ miles per hour—rather than on location, movement, or deception.
Power pitchers rack up strikeouts by overpowering hitters with velocity: He's a classic power pitcher who can blow fastballs past anyone.
The style contrasts with finesse pitching.
