pot banging
Cookware protest noise
Pot banging is a form of protest where people bang pots, pans, and other kitchen implements to create noise, typically from windows, balconies, or in the streets.
The practice has roots in Latin American demonstrations (where it's called *cacerolazo*) and has spread globally as a way to voice collective dissent: Every night at eight, pot banging erupted across the city.
