plastic pistol
Child's play weapon
A plastic pistol is a toy gun or replica firearm made primarily of plastic rather than metal.
The term sometimes refers to polymer-framed handguns like Glocks, which use synthetic materials in their construction: Airport security was designed before plastic pistols became standard issue.
In dismissive use, it suggests something cheap or not serious: He's waving that plastic pistol around like it scares somebody.
