photobleached
Sun-stripped of color
Photobleached describes something that has lost color or fluorescence through exposure to light.
The term appears most often in scientific contexts, where intense light degrades dyes or fluorescent molecules during microscopy: The sample photobleached after prolonged imaging.
Outside the lab, fabrics, photographs, or pigments left in sunlight can become photobleached—faded by light rather than chemical bleach.
