permanent exhibits
Always-there museum pieces
Permanent exhibits are displays in museums, galleries, or similar institutions that remain on view indefinitely, as opposed to temporary or traveling exhibitions.
They typically form the core collection that defines an institution's identity: The dinosaur hall is one of the museum's most popular permanent exhibits.
The term is somewhat misleading—permanent exhibits do change over time, just slowly.
