partisan group

Ideologically aligned coalition

A partisan group is an organized body united by strong commitment to a particular cause, party, or faction.

The term often describes armed resistance fighters operating in occupied territory, as during World War II: Partisan groups harassed Nazi supply lines throughout the Balkans.

More broadly, it can mean any faction showing fierce loyalty to one side of a political divide.
