parent council
Guardian advisory group
A parent council is an organized group of parents who advise or participate in decisions at their children's school.
The council typically addresses curriculum, budgets, fundraising, and school policies.
In some jurisdictions, parent councils are formally established bodies with defined roles; in others, they operate more informally as advocacy groups: The parent council voted to fund new playground equipment.
