A package insert is the printed document included with a medication that provides detailed information about the drug—its uses, dosage, side effects, warnings, and contraindications.
Pharmaceutical companies are required to include these with prescription drugs.
Doctors and pharmacists consult them; patients often find them dense with medical terminology: I couldn't make sense of the package insert.
