orange alert
Heightened danger notice
Orange alert is a warning level indicating high risk or danger, typically in security or emergency systems.
In the U.S. color-coded threat advisory system used from 2002 to 2011, orange signified a "high" terrorism threat—the second-highest level after red.
The term extends to weather warnings and other graduated alert systems: The city went to orange alert ahead of the hurricane.
