open dating
Package expiration stamps
Open dating is the practice of printing readable expiration or freshness dates on food packaging—"sell by," "use by," or "best before"—as opposed to coded dates only manufacturers can interpret.
The term also describes a relationship arrangement where partners date other people: They decided to try open dating before committing.
