on-demand work
Jobs when needed
On-demand work is employment arranged as needed rather than on a fixed schedule, typically through digital platforms that connect workers with short-term tasks: She does on-demand work for a rideshare company.
The model offers flexibility but often lacks benefits and job security associated with traditional employment.
