nuisance species
Unwanted animal populations
A nuisance species is a plant or animal that causes problems for humans—damaging property, spreading disease, disrupting ecosystems, or simply being a pest.
The term is less formal than "invasive species" and emphasizes annoyance over ecological harm: Raccoons are considered a nuisance species in urban areas.
What counts as a nuisance often depends on context; deer are wildlife until they eat your garden.
