nonspontaneous
Not occurring naturally
Nonspontaneous describes something that doesn't occur naturally or on its own—it requires external input, effort, or intervention.
In chemistry and thermodynamics, a nonspontaneous reaction won't proceed without added energy: The electrolysis of water is nonspontaneous.
More generally, nonspontaneous behavior feels forced or deliberate rather than arising naturally: Her laughter seemed nonspontaneous, almost rehearsed.
