nine-tailed fox
Korean seductress spirit
A nine-tailed fox is a mythical creature from East Asian folklore, especially prominent in Chinese, Korean, and Japanese traditions.
The creature is typically a fox spirit that gains additional tails as it ages and grows in power, with nine tails representing centuries of existence and immense magical ability.
Nine-tailed foxes are often shapeshifters who assume human form—usually a beautiful woman—to seduce or deceive mortals.
In contemporary usage, the figure appears frequently in anime, video games, and fantasy fiction: The nine-tailed fox is one of the most powerful summons in the game.
