multiplication signs

Arithmetic operation indicators

Multiplication signs are symbols indicating that numbers should be multiplied together.

The most common are × (a rotated cross), · (a centered dot), and * (an asterisk, standard in programming).

In algebra, multiplication is often implied by adjacent terms with no sign at all: 3*x* means three times *x*.

Use multiplication signs when showing your work.
