mouse-ear

Small furry leaf

Mouse-ear refers to any of several plants with small, soft, rounded leaves that resemble the ear of a mouse.

The term most commonly applies to members of the genus Cerastium, low-growing plants in the pink family with fuzzy, oval leaves, often called mouse-ear chickweed.

It also describes certain species of hawkweed and forget-me-not with similar leaf shapes.

The mouse-ear chickweed had spread across the lawn.
