monoglots
One-tongue people only
Monoglots are people who speak only one language.
The term is neutral but often appears in contexts contrasting them with polyglots or bilinguals: Most monoglots don't realize how much language shapes thought.
In an increasingly connected world, monoglot can carry a faint suggestion of limitation or insularity.
