mixed review
Praise with reservations
A mixed review is a critical assessment that contains both praise and criticism, neither wholly positive nor negative.
The term applies to evaluations of books, films, restaurants, products, or performances: The movie got mixed reviews—critics loved the acting but found the plot thin.
In the plural, mixed reviews often signals an uncertain reception: Her new album has received mixed reviews.
