meshugga

Off one's rocker

Meshugga is Yiddish for crazy or senseless, borrowed into English to describe someone or something absurd, foolish, or mentally unhinged: Don't listen to him, he's completely meshugga.

The word carries affectionate exasperation more often than clinical judgment.

Also spelled meshuga, meshugge, or meshuggeneh.
