memoryless

Lacking past retention

Memoryless describes something that retains no information about its past states.

In probability and statistics, a memoryless process is one where future outcomes depend only on the present, not on history—the exponential distribution has this property.

More loosely, memoryless can describe systems or devices that don't store data between operations: The function is memoryless, producing output based solely on current input.
