memory overload

Too much information

Memory overload is the state of having too much information to process or retain effectively.

The term applies both to human cognition—I'm in memory overload after that three-hour lecture—and to computers, where it describes a system running out of available RAM.

In either case, performance suffers: minds go blank, machines slow or crash.
