matte paper
Flat-finish printing surface
Matte paper has a non-glossy, low-sheen surface that absorbs light rather than reflecting it.
Photographers and artists often prefer matte for prints that will be viewed under varied lighting, since it minimizes glare and fingerprints.
The texture gives images a softer, more subdued appearance than glossy alternatives: I printed the portraits on matte paper so they'd look good in any frame.
