Loony tunes describes someone or something crazy, absurd, or wildly irrational: The whole plan was completely loony tunes.

The phrase derives from the Warner Bros. cartoon series but has become a general adjective for erratic or deranged behavior: He went loony tunes when he found out.

Sometimes spelled Looney Tunes after the original.
