locoed
Driven to insanity
Locoed describes someone or something that has gone crazy or wild, particularly from eating locoweed, a plant toxic to livestock in the American West.
Cattle, horses, and sheep that consume locoweed develop erratic behavior, staggering gait, and impaired vision—they become locoed.
The term extends to people acting irrationally or recklessly: He went completely locoed after the breakup.
It's informal and carries a regional, folksy flavor.
