living donor
Alive organ giver
A living donor is a person who donates an organ or tissue while still alive, as opposed to donation after death.
The term appears most often in discussions of kidney and liver transplants, where a healthy person can give part of an organ to someone in need: Her brother was her living donor.
Living donors undergo extensive medical and psychological screening.
